The MICHAEL ROSS TRIO and many of the 2018 scholarship winners will perform at the Jazz Club Scholarship Awards celebration at Giorgio's on Thursday, July 26 at 7:00 pm. Full menu and bar available for purchase. Scholarship recipients scheduled to perform are Jacob Anatra, Blake Bennett, Patrick Daut, Donald Distephano, Daniel Mach-Holt, David Mason, Josh Platt, Kyle Schroeder, Filip Sokolowski. THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF SARASOTA 2018 GIVING CHALLENGE. For a 24 hour period from 12 noon on May 1 through 12 noon on May 2, all donations will be matched dollar for dollar up to $100 (minimum donation $25). go to: www.givingpartnerchallenge.org

If you need information or assistance, volunteers will be available at the Jazz Club office (941-366-1552) to help process your donation on May 1 and May 2.

Jazz at Two - Mark Moultrup Jazz

Mark is from Detroit and now resides in St. Petersburg. He was a regular in the top Detroit and Chicago jazz clubs and performed in the Chicago and Detroit Jazz Festivals. Mark has shared the stage and performed with a diverse array of artists such as Smokey Robinson, Bobby Vinton, Marcus Belgrave, Eddie Kendricks, Dave Ruffin Regina Carter and Leslie Gore. Joining Mark are James Suggs, Mark Neuenschwander, Jean Bolduc and Zach Bornheimer

Jazz at Two - Dave Morgan Trio

Now a full time Florida resident, Dave is a drummer, vibist and vocalist, He performs on the Gulfcoast from the Tampa Bay area to Naples with his own group and some of the area’s top
musicians. During his career, he has performed with many big bands and entertainers, such as, Bob Hope & Phil Harris. Joining him are Mark Neuenschwander, bass and Marty Morell, long time member of the Bill Evans trio .

Jazz at Two - Patricia Dean Trio

Patricia Dean, drums and vocals. As a drummer, she is an inspiring and supremely tasteful time-keeper, accompanist and soloist. As a jazz vocalist, she is swinging, sensitive and wonderfully musical. Joining Patricia are Scott Smith, bass and Danny Sinoff, piano and vocals. Sinoff studied classical piano and turned to jazz at 17. His influences are Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans, Kenny Barron, Harry Connick, Jr and Frank Sinatra.

Jerry is one of the finest pianist in the Bay area. He was arranger for the USAF Air University Band, and music director for such notable performers as John Davidson, Kay Starr, Donald O’Connor, Frank Gorshin and Bobby Vinton.
A teacher for 33 years, Eckert now performs regularly with the Sarasota Jazz Project and is favorite on the area jazz scene. Trio features Rich MacDonald, drums; Bruce Wallace, bass

Jazz Trolley & Pub Crawl

Downtown Sarasota, Sarasota, FL

MUST CALL THE OFFICE ON MONDAY AFTER 10 AM TO ORDER YOUR WRISTBANDS. TROLLEY WRISTBANDS WILL BE AT WILL CALL ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 7TH, AT THE MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM BEGINNING AT 5 P.M. 801 N TAMIAMI TRAIL. YOU CAN ALSO PICK THEM UP MONDAY OR TUESDAY AT THE JAZZ CLUB OFFICE FROM 10-4 P.M. YOU MUST HAVE A WRISTBAND TO RIDE TROLLEY AND ENTER CLUBS.

The annual Jazz Trolley and Pub Crawl is part of the Sarasota Jazz Festival. Over forty local jazz musicians will be performing at various venues in downtown Sarasota. Hop on, hop off the trolleys at designated stops near the venues. Trolley rides from 5:30. Music from 6 - 10 pm at various clubs. Wristbands required for trolley and admittance to 9 venues. Enjoy music by Al Hixon, Eddie Tobin, Linda Baker, Debbie Keeton, Synia Carroll, David Pryun, Skip Conkling, Nancy Pastore, Billy Marcus, Matt Bokulic, Michael Ross, Tommy Goodman, Hot Club SRQ and many others.

Guitarist/vocalist, Tony Boffa graduated from Berklee College of Music in 1973. Originally from Maine, Tony performed for many years with his own nine piece show/dance band and small jazz groups. Since moving to Florida's southwest coast, Tony works mostly with small jazz groups, performing music from the Great American songbook and creative jazz renditions of pop tunes.
