Alfred Green discusses his book "Rhythm is My Beat" - about his father Freddie Green, guitarist with the Count Basie Band. A Free Event of the 37th Sarasota Jazz Festival; book signing and discussion. Informative and entertaining talk about the legendary guitarist and his nearly 50 years with the Basie Band. Free and open to the public.

Scheduled to perform - Eddie Tobin with Linda Baker, David Pruyn Quartet, Greg Nielsen Quartet, Synia Carroll & Billy Marcus Trio, Robbie Rose Trio, Al Hixon Sextet, Skip Conkling & Dixie Mix, Matt Bokulic Trio and Bill Buchman "The Art of Jazz". Hop on and off the trolley to enjoy jazz all night.

Must have wristband to enter clubs or a $5 cover charge will be added.

Featuring Dick Hyman and seven world renowned musicians; Bill Charlap, one of the world’s premier jazz pianists and Grammy Award recipient. West Coast singer Clairdee, with her lustrous voice, soulful delivery, and scene-stealing charisma,”This woman can do it all,” LA Daily News. Houston Person, a jazz tenor saxophonist known for his distinctive sassy sound. Randy Sandke, “One of the best trumpet players around” according to the Chicago Tribune. Russell Malone, an American jazz guitarist who has worked with Jimmy Smith, Harry Connick, Jr. and Diana Krall. Mark Feinman, a sensational drummer who has toured Italy and France and major European Festivals. John Lamb, a virtuoso bassist who performed with the Duke Ellington Orchestra for over ten years. Evening will include excerpts from recordings, broadcasts and Woody Allen films.

Jazz at Two - Skip Conkling and Dixie Mix

Come hear some of your favorites Dixieland tunes and that New Orleans Jazz sound from Skip Conkling and his Dixie Mix septet. The group features Marv Luckett, Mike Evans, Keith Carman, Tony Swain, Joe Bruno, John DeWitt, vocalist Nancy Pastore and Skip on the drums.

Jazz All Stars at Temple Beth Israel

The Jazz Club of Sarasota and Temple Beth Israel have teamed to present a quintet of nationally recognized musicians for an afternoon of jazz in a social setting that includes snacks and a cash bar. The Jazz All-Stars in the quintet are Nate Najar, guitar; Eddie Metz Jr., drums; Don Mopsick, bass; Joe Delaney, piano; and Bob Bowlby, saxophone. Tickets: $25 - will be available at the door
