The Challenge We Face

Despite our success, the Jazz Club has no permanent performance space. Each year, we must compete for and rent venues, working around schedules that understandably prioritize their own programming. This limits our ability to grow, plan long-term, and serve the community more fully.

A Bold Vision for the Future

As we develop our next Five-Year Strategic Plan, we envision a thriving future for jazz in Sarasota, including:

• Growing membership to 2,500 by 2030

• Launching a 24/7 jazz streaming radio station with local talk programming

• Establishing the Synia Carroll National Vocal Jazz Competition

• Expanding education for all ages, including middle and high school jazz summer programs and adult workshops

• Presenting the annual Jazz Festival at the Van Wezel or a new large performance hall with top-tier artists

• Creating the Jazz Club’s own 300-seat venue and jazz nightclub
